TCS Heights campus

Trinity Classical School is pleased to announce we opened a Heights Campus Fall 2016!  We welcome interested families to attend an upcoming Information Meeting.

Vision for Classical Education in the Heights
TCS has been considering possible expansion campus locations for the last few years. With the growing interest in Christ-centered, classical, and collaborative education in Houston, it was becoming increasingly appealing to provide a way to meet the demand. TCS found itself turning away numerous families each year due to class caps and facility space. We desired a way to launch an expansion campus that would reach more families in the Houston area and serve as an overflow for the TCS Houston main campus.

At the same time, a core group of families in the Heights began to discuss their desire to see an educational option like TCS in their neighborhood. As more families joined the discussion, there emerged a consistent and growing desire for a classical Christian school in the Heights. In January 2015, these families met to discuss the feasibility of starting a classical school. Since the group knew about TCS and their successful school model, they asked Kyle Bryant (see below) to contact Head of School Neil Anderson about the possibility of partnering with TCS to bring a similar school to the Heights.

Partnering With TCS
Through much prayer and strategic planning, TCS and the Heights core group decided the best course would be for Mr. Bryant to lead a campus in the Heights area that would be an expansion of TCS. The Heights area is a strategic neighborhood for TCS—close proximity to TCS Houston will allow the Heights campus to share governance, faculty, and staff; accommodate student overflow from the main campus; and provide ease of administrative oversight for both schools. The Heights location also presents the exciting possibility of a shared Rhetoric School for both campuses.

Because of these strategic factors, TCS decided that it should pursue the opportunity to bring Christ-centered, classical, and collaborative education to the Heights. In his providence, God brought Kyle and this core group of families together while at the same time preparing TCS to open a new campus. The TCS Board of Directors therefore decided to pursue the TCS Heights vision, with a goal of classes beginning in the Fall of 2016.

TCS Heights Campus Director

Mr. Kyle Bryant serves as the Campus Director for TCS Heights. Although raised in the public school system, Kyle is passionate about seeing a revival of classical education in our communities and churches. After graduating from Kingwood High School, he attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics in 2008. Kyle then enrolled in law school at Texas Tech University, where he finished Magna Cum Laude in 2011. After graduation, he moved back to Houston to practice law. For the past four years, Kyle has practiced civil litigation and family law with his father downtown.

Launching TCS Heights
TCS Heights will initially offer classes for Pre-K through 2nd grade, with the intent to add a grade level each academic year. Although TCS Heights will be a separate campus, the admissions process for TCS Heights will mirror that of TCS Houston. Like TCS Houston, on-campus days for TCS Heights will be Monday and Wednesday.

Admissions for TCS Heights
If you are interested in enrolling your child at TCS Heights (or may be interested in the future), please complete this brief TCS Heights Interest Survey.

After you have completed the survey, join us for an Information Meeting. These information meetings are for both the Houston and Heights campuses. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and meet the Heights campus leadership.

Location
The Heights campus will be located at Church of the Holy Trinity, 211 Byrne St., Houston, TX 77009. It’s a great little church building two blocks from Travis Elementary School in the Woodland Heights. It has a chapel for morning assembly, plenty of classroom space, a parish hall for lunch, and a playground for recess and P.E. The elders and staff at Holy Trinity have been gracious to us in allowing us to meet there next year; it is certainly an answer to prayer to find a church willing to support us and our vision! If you have more questions about the Heights campus location, contact Campus Director Kyle Bryant.
